Your agreement
By choosing Agree & Continue, you agree to these service terms. If you do not agree, do not continue with a signed-in Fortune account. You can still explore Try Demo with fictional data, read the legal information, log out, or request deletion of an account you have already created.
Your license to the iOS app remains governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These terms supplement that license for Fortune’s services; they do not replace the Standard EULA, change Apple’s obligations, or limit rights you have under applicable law.
The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Acknowledging that policy does not replace the separate choices presented when connecting a bank or enabling device permissions.
Fortune is intended for adults aged 18 and older. You must be at least 18 to use the service. Before continuing with a signed-in account, you must select the separate checkbox declaring that you are at least 18. This is your own declaration, not identity or age verification by Fortune. We do not ask for your date of birth in account or profile setup. A display name is optional and can be skipped or changed later.
What Fortune provides
Fortune helps you organize financial information, plan budgets and goals, and understand estimates based on the information available to it. Fortune is not a bank, does not hold your deposits, and does not move money or pay bills for you through its current bank-connection features.
Fortune provides general informational tools, not personalized investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Using Fortune alone does not create an investment-adviser or fiduciary relationship. Seek an appropriately qualified professional when you need advice about your circumstances.
Estimates and financial decisions
Balances, transaction categories, income estimates, forecasts, reminders, safe-to-spend amounts, and financial scores may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect. A Fortune financial score is an app calculation, not a credit bureau score or lending decision. Estimates depend on your inputs, bank information, and assumptions that may change.
Check important information against your bank’s records and your own obligations before spending or making financial decisions. A reminder or estimate is not a guarantee of available funds, a payment, a return, a saving, or avoidance of fees. You remain responsible for making your financial decisions and arranging payments when due. This does not excuse our responsibilities under applicable law.
Your account and connected banks
Use Fortune only for lawful purposes and connect only accounts you are entitled to access. Keep the information you provide accurate enough for the features you use. Do not impersonate another person, access someone else’s data without authority, bypass access controls, or deliberately disrupt the service.
Apple provides sign-in, and Firebase supports Fortune’s account authentication. If you choose to connect a bank, Plaid and your financial institution support that connection under their own applicable terms and privacy notices. Connections depend on those services and can be interrupted, require renewed authorization, or stop being supported. Fortune’s service does not change your agreement with your bank.
Each connected bank can sync once in a rolling 24-hour period. One sync covers all accounts within that bank connection. A sync uses the latest information already available from Plaid; it does not force an immediate update from your bank, and that information may be delayed. Fortune shows when that bank can sync again. Connections and synchronization remain subject to service availability and reasonable security limits; Fortune does not guarantee instant or uninterrupted bank updates.
Your information and device security
You retain the rights you have in your information. These terms do not transfer ownership of your financial data to us. You authorize the processing reasonably needed to provide the features you request, subject to the Privacy Policy and your separate permissions. This is not permission to sell your information or use it for unrelated purposes.
Financial records and app preferences are saved on your device. Account authentication and bank connections also use cloud services; balances and transactions pass through Fortune’s backend when retrieved. Fortune does not currently offer its own cloud transaction backup or cross-device financial-data recovery. Device backups are controlled separately by your device settings and providers.
Deleting the app, losing or replacing a device, or resetting local data may make locally saved information unavailable. Keep independent records of information you need; do not rely on Fortune as your only financial record. Protect your device, Apple Account, and app PIN, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. We remain responsible for the safeguards and legal obligations that apply to our services; no system can promise absolute security.
Free version 1
Fortune version 1 is free to use. Its features have no access expiration, subscription requirement, or payment requirement. Using this release does not enroll you in a subscription or create an automatic charge. The bank-sync limit described above still applies.
If optional paid features are offered in a future release, their price and terms will be presented separately before you choose whether to purchase them. No future purchase is authorized by using this free release or agreeing to these terms.
If you used an earlier Fortune service billed through Stripe, contact us about its billing or records. Logging out, uninstalling Fortune, or deleting your Fortune account does not cancel an external billing arrangement or erase that provider’s records.
Stopping use and deleting an account
You can stop using Fortune at any time. Logging out retains local information so the same account can return. Use Delete Account to request removal of your Fortune account and associated data. Identity verification may be required to protect your account. The app reports progress or provides a retry if deletion is interrupted.
The Privacy Policy describes what deletion removes, retained completion records, and third-party retention. Deleting a local bank entry or resetting local app data does not itself revoke the server-side bank connection. You can also manage bank access through Plaid or your financial institution.
We may restrict service when reasonably necessary to address a security threat, unlawful use, material breach of these terms, or a legal requirement. Where appropriate, we will explain the restriction and provide a way to contact us. This does not remove your applicable rights to your data, a refund, or other remedies.
Service limitations and responsibility
We aim to provide a useful, reliable service, but do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free calculations, or a particular financial outcome. To the extent the law permits, the service is provided as available, without additional implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. This does not override an express promise we make or a warranty or remedy the law does not allow us to exclude.
To the extent the law permits, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these terms, or losses caused solely by events outside our reasonable control. We do not exclude liability for our fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, or any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer, privacy, and data-security rights. Responsibility for third-party involvement is determined by applicable law; using a provider does not remove our own legal duties.
Changes and questions
We will identify revised terms by their version and effective date. Material changes will be explained before they apply, with renewed agreement where appropriate or legally required. Changes will not retroactively authorize a new use of previously collected data where your permission is required.
Contact gsostre@yourpodo.com with questions or concerns. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, waive class proceedings, or restrict your ability to contact a regulator or exercise nonwaivable rights. They do not designate an exclusive court or override the law that applies to you.
